Amazing and thrilling win tonight by Burridge CC U15s. The team were playing Fareham and Crofton CC U15A side on a nice but chilly eve at the Fareham ground.
Losing the toss, Burridge CC U15 Colts were put into bat.... A well built and dogged innings over 20 overs saw opening batsmen Joe Baker last the distance and making over 40 runs, ably supported by Ben Randell Ben Wilkie and Aman Khanna to a good total of 105.
A confident Fareham side started well with the opening pair settling in well, but a fabulous catch from Matt Steward saw the start of the demise for the Fareham team. Cracking bowling from all the Burridge boys, but notably Aman Khanna, Munn Ajg, Stu Downs and a special mention for debutant U13 Ben Wilkie who was so impressive with his bowling keeping the score down.... So it all all came down to the last over Fareham needed 5 runs with 2 wickets remaining. Up stepped Aman Khanna who bowled the Fareham batsman 1st ball and on the second ball the batsman edged in the failing light to the excellent Burridge CC keeper Cameron Primus. So Burridge U15s won by 4 runs ..... Well done lads and the Burridge CC machine keeps rolling on.... 2 wins out of 2 for the U15s..
